How do I know it works?
Because I’ve been where you are.
A few years ago, my then-husband
asked me for a divorce out of nowhere.
(At least, that’s how it felt.)
At the time, I was in chronic pain and constantly overwhelmed. I had panic attacks from the overwhelm of college courses, kicking off my career, juggling my relationships, and making sure all my bills got paid. Even simple things my husband did, like loading the dishwasher
wrong, could make me snap.
Everything in my life felt completely
out of control. My relationship was the
only place I felt secure—but my divorce
showed me how wrong I was.

Simple moments can change your life forever.
One day, while miserably channel surfing,
I happened upon an Eddie Murphy movie
where he talks about how brief human lives are.
Eddie said, we get 75 years of life if we’re lucky,
75 winters, 75 summers, 75 springs, and 75 falls.
Give or take a few years.
His words hit me like a ton of bricks, and I started sobbing right there on my couch. I’d spent 30 of my 75 years consumed by anxiety, pain, and illness. And where had it gotten me?
That moment, hot on the heels of losing a person
I loved, was a turning point for me.

My high-functioning anxiety and unhealed trauma manifested as controlling and critical behavior in my first marriage, culminating in a divorce I never saw coming. I learned the hard way how untreated anxiety can wreak havoc on our relationships with the people we love the most.
Determined to break the cycle, I studied the mind-body connection and the life-changing impact of nervous system dysregulation. I worked hard to reestablish a sense of safety and
create a secure attachment style in my relationships.
Today, I’m very happily remarried. I’ve seen firsthand the magic this kind of work can do.
